1. TAPROOM MANAGER

Under the direction of the General Manager, help supervise and lead a team of 20+ employees operating the restaurant and taproom at Mikkeller NYC. We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual with a keen interest in hospitality, customer service and craft beer! Prior experience as a FOH manager is valued, but not required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES(in support of / tandem with the GM):

-- Leading a team of 20+ FOH employees for the taproom and kitchen portion of the brewery.

-- Cultivate and maintain a staff culture that emphasizes positivity, education and teamwork.

-- Actively assist on the floor during service in whatever capacity is needed.

-- Assisting with all aspects of the beer program including (but not limited to) the maintaining and updating of the beer menu, proper functionality of the draught system, inventory & ordering.

-- Oversight of all kitchen operations in tandem w/ the Kitchen Manager.

-- Participating in the hiring, on-boarding and training of new staff members along with the

disciplining / termination of insubordinate staff members if necessary.

-- Helping maintain office related items including staff HR files, staff schedule, EOD financials, etc.

-- Collaborating on special events inside brewery space.

-- Adhering to all state and local labor laws, health code laws, dram shop law, etc.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

-- 3+ years of restaurant/bar experience in some capacity.

-- Passionate about hospitality.

-- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong customer-service focus.

-- Close attention to detail.

-- Adept in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Publisher & Outlook.

-- Adept in using various POS interfaces.

-- Experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate in craft beer.

-- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

-- Solid problem-solving ability; able to work through unexpected situations using varying levels of resources and information.

-- Must be available to work evenings/weekends.

-- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-- Superior time management skills.

-- Ability to define goals, meet urgent deadlines, organize and prioritize projects.

-- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

** NYC Food Handlers Certificate / Cicerone Certified Beer Server Certification a plus

2. SEASONAL BARTENDER

The ideal candidate will:

-- Have at least 2yrs experience working in high volume bars / restaurants

-- Enjoy educating customers on products we offer / company history & philosophy

-- Have a history of building rapport with guests to cultivate regulars / repeat business

-- Exhibit a work ethic of efficiency and high energy

-- Possess superior time management skills

-- Be able to maintain a positive attitude in high stress situations

-- Be willing to go above and beyond the job description

-- Be able to work on holidays / weekends.

-- Have the flexibility to pick up / cover shifts when needed

-- Be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

** NYC Food Handlers Certificate / Cicerone Beer Server Certification a plus.

3. SEASONAL BARBACK

The ideal candidate will:

-- Have at least 2yrs experience working in high volume bars / restaurants

-- Be familiar with draught beer systems and changing kegs

-- Be willing to spearhead bar set-up / breakdown and cleaning at the beginning / end of each shift

-- Exhibit a work ethic of efficiency and high energy

-- Possess superior time management skills

-- Be able to maintain a positive attitude in high stress situations

-- Be willing to go above and beyond the job description

-- Be able to work on holidays / weekends.

-- Have the flexibility to pick up / cover shifts when needed

-- Be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

4. SEASONAL LINE COOK

The ideal candidate will:

-- Have at least 2yrs experience working in high volume bars / restaurants

-- Be familiar with all forms of cooking, with a focus on the fryer, flat top and oven

-- Have a firm grasp on temping burgers

-- Have general knowledge of food items, ingredients and spices

-- Follow proper cooler / freezer usage procedures including air tight storage, dating and FIFO as per health code specifications

-- Work organized and clean to the highest standard and requirement of health code. This includes maintaining a clean workstation, kitchen, and dish area

-- Exhibit high level communication skills. This includes a complete understanding of the language(s) of the work place, be able to read and execute recipes (in grams), and maintain open lines of communication with all team members / supervisors

-- Exhibit a work ethic of efficiency and high energy

-- Possess superior time management skills

-- Be able to maintain a positive attitude in high stress situations

-- Be willing to go above and beyond the job description

-- Be able to work on holidays / weekends

-- Have the flexibility to pick up / cover shifts when needed

** Having an NYC Food Handlers Certificate is highly preferred.

5. SEASONAL FOOD EXPO

The ideal candidate will have:

-- At least 1 yr of high volume experience working as an expo and/or food runner for a restaurant / bar / taproom

-- Superior organization and communication skills

-- A willingness to help out in the kitchen and/or on the floor as needed

-- Confidence in themselves to work in a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment

-- The ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach,

twist, sit, walk, and/or run

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

-- Keeping the expo window clean and organized (this includes tickets & food)

-- Calling out orders to the line cooks / kitchen manager

-- Prioritizing tickets based on timing and/or VIP designations

-- Ensuring all finished tickets have the proper sauces / flatware and are ready to go

-- Clearly communicating with barbacks / food runners where food is going.

** Having an NYC food handlers certificate is highly preferred.

6. SEASONAL RETAIL ASSOCIATE

The ideal candidate will have:

-- At least 1+yr experience working in craft beer bars/bottle shops.

-- Or at least 2+ years retail experience & passion for craft beer.

-- Be able to work on holidays, weekends, and mornings.

-- Have the flexibility to pick up / cover shifts when needed.

-- Be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

-- Exhibit a work ethic of efficiency and high energy.

-- Possess superior time management skills.

-- Be willing to go above and beyond the job description.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

-- Greeting guests visiting the brewery and educating them on our products, philosophy, company history

-- Selling beer and merchandise

-- Keep our shelves/coolers full and inviting

-- Clean bottles/shelves/glassware

-- Pack and ship e-commerce orders

-- Fold, label, and organize merchandise

7. SEASONAL SECURITY / FRONT DOOR CONCIERGE

The ideal candidate will have:

-- At least 2yrs experience working security at a high volume bar / restaurant / taproom

-- An active NY State security license

-- Superior customer service skills

-- The ability to remain calm / level headed regardless of the situation that presents itself

-- The ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

This position will be responsible for:

-- Greeting guests at the door

-- Checking IDs

-- Directing guests to where they are going

-- Keeping a constant eye on the interior / exterior of the taproom to ensure guest safety.
